# Documents and artefacts

An artefact is a document or other served result created in Forge. Start with a living draft so the facts, wording and layout can be reviewed before it is issued.

## Review before issue

Ask for the draft, check the intended recipient and confirm the source information. A PDF or public share is an issue step, not proof that the content is correct.

## Draft, preview, then issue

Use the draft while facts or wording may still change. Preview it in the form your reader will use and check the task facts, template and branding before issue. Issuing a PDF or creating a share link makes a stable result available to someone else; it does not send it automatically or replace a separate approval process.

Keep the issued result with its task or source records. If something changes afterwards, prepare and review a new draft rather than quietly changing what an earlier recipient received.

Preview this draft as the recipient will see it. List missing facts, approval points and any share action separately; do not issue it.
